Reading and Slough Selection Test

Information for children who want to attend a Grammar School in Reading or Slough

Selection Test is now complete for upcoming 2021/22 accademic year.

Registration for the 11+ Entrance Examination for Year 7 entry in September 2022 opened on Saturday 1 May 2021 and closed at midnight on Monday 14 June 2021.
esting for the Slough Consortium of Grammar Schools is expected to take place in September 2021. Registered candidates will be contacted by email by the end of July with information about testing arrangements.

Admission process starts at the various open evenings see school websites for dates, mostly in April before registration is open.

For you to be selected for a grammar school, you need to have attained the appropriate score in the Reading and Slough common admissions test.
But passing the Reading and Slough common admissions test alone does not gurantee you space in the school of your choice.
The selective test is provided by the Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM) at the University of Durham. The examination consists of two separate papers, each of approximately 60 -65 minutes duration, containing a variety of questions which will test verbal, numerical and non-verbal ability.
